Lodging

AOA offers year-round house or cabin rental options at two of our most beautiful preserves.

A chalet-style house on our Mercer Woods Preserve in Hocking Hills near Sugar Grove, Ohio is available for use as a nightly or long-term rental. Guests to the cabin can walk out into a spectacular, 116-acre old growth hemlock and mixed oak forest and enjoy hiking, photography and observing the unique flora and fauna on the property.

The Bison Hollow Hideaway cabin at the north entrance to AOA’s Bison Hollow Preserve just south of Ash Cave is also available for nightly rental. This cabin was donated to AOA by the Russell family and is located just 3 minutes from Ash Cave.  The cabin is in close proximity to three scenic waterfalls on the Preserve which now consists of 827 acres along the Hocking-Vinton County line.

Russell Cabin, also located in the Bison Hollow Preserve, and is available for rent as of February 2023.  This traditional log cabin has a screened in porch and porch swing and is also located a short walk from the most scenic part of the Preserve.

As AOA continues to acquire land and create larger habitat preserves, we have gained a growing number of houses and other structures.  Some of these structures are available for rent on a long-term basis.

The AOA rentals shown on this webpage are available through our real estate partner, Venture in Real Estate Cabin Booking – Venture in Real Estate in Logan, Ohio. Proceeds from guest stays at our properties support our conservation mission.
