Volunteer Tree Planting at AOA’s Cackley Swamp Preserve
April 22 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
FreeJoin us for a volunteer workday on one of AOA’s beautiful conservation properties. AOA is sponsoring a volunteer tree planting at our Cackley Swamp restoration site this coming Monday, April 22nd. We will be planting areas that have recently been excavated as part of our wetland expansion and restoration activities.
Cackley Swamp is a large and spectacular remnant Teay’s River wetland in Jackson County. This is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy our natural world and help in the effort to reforest critical habitats.
This is a family-friendly event, so feel free to bring the kids and show them how to plant a tree! Afterwards, you are welcome to stick around and explore the property.
Time: Meet at 10:00 a.m.
What to Wear: Please wear closed-toed shoes, bring water/lunch if desired, and dress appropriately for the weather. There may be wet or muddy areas depending on recent rains.
What to Bring: Lunch, snacks and/or drinks of your choice. Insect repellant is recommended during tick season.
Location: Cackley Swamp is located at the end of Harmon Road in Oak Hill just off of Highway 93. You can use 850 Harmon Road, Oak Hill, OH, for google maps directions or use the Google Map link below. You will see the gate and drive on your left which will be marked with AOA signs and cones.
